It's official! #The100DayProject has begun! Every day until mid-July, I'll be posting the insides of my sketchbook and my work with the focus of lettering! Inspired by the Daily Drop Cap project of Jessica Hische, I'm going to try a hopefully successful attempt of furthering my hand-lettering skills for the next 100 days, using the hashtag #100daysofsevenellemakes. Of course, there might be a few random projects thrown in here and there for the sake of making and trying my best to avoid creative block, but here we go!
Follow @sevenellecreative or my personal page, @jessthatsme on Instagram for more of my creative ramblings and explorations.
Learn more about the people behind the project: The Great Discontent, and Elle Luna, her amazing artwork, and her book, The Crossroads of Should and Must. (Highly recommended!)

WHAT'S ON THE BLOG
On Saturday, April 2nd, the Inside Edge 11U Red Boys baseball team hosted a Bingo Fundraiser, in hopes of furthering their journey to Omaha this coming June. The night was filled with laughter and playful competition as friends and family gathered to support the IE boys, and raised more than $3,000 with all-you-can-eat chili, dessert, 50/50 raffles, bingo cards, and more. It was such a blast to be a part of this memorable evening, and we're looking forward to a great season and seeing these boys in Omaha this summer!

All new Sevenelle shop coming soon!
Illustrator and lettering badass, Jessica Hische brought her pure awesomeness to Kansas City to share her insights on design, lettering, procrastiworking, her clients-from-hell experiences, and brushes with fame. We met with her at the Unity Temple on the Plaza to chat about design and living life as a fellow Jess. Among her expertise, she shared 5 practical tips to living your best life and taking care of yourself.
1. Always assume you're dehydrated
Whether it's a headache, a grumpy mood, or lack of motivation, odds are pretty high that you're just thirsty for a glass of water. Quench your thirst and take care of your body by replenishing it with water. Your body will thank you.
2. Take vitamin D
A vitamin D deficiency can affect more than just your daily dose of sunshine. Taking ample amounts of necessary vitamins can ensure not only your health, but a happier and more balanced lifestyle. Take your vitamins.
3. Quit cracking your neck
Guilty! Although it may feel amazing to get that deep *pop*, it's possible you're doing more harm than good. Your neck is an important part of your body and damaging it can play a major role in your overall wellbeing. There are entire studies based on the effects of popping your neck. Do your research and maybe cut down on the neck-popping.
4. Invest in a good toothbrush
Your oral health not only makes your teeth look super pretty and clean, it can help to fight against the bacteria and disease that may be present in your mouth. A good brushing can work wonders, so investing in a good toothbrush may be just the trick. Some bristles may be softer than others, while some prefer an electric to a manual. Whatever your preference, make sure your toothbrush is the best for you.
5. Don't eat mediocre bread or dessert
Cannot stress this one enough! Life is too damn short to eat low-quality carbs and subpar sweet treats. If you're going to indulge yourself, do it right. Never skimp on dessert and always go for the finest loaf of bread available. When the waiter asks if you'll be having dessert this evening, go ahead and just say 'yes'. You'll figure out the rest later.
